The SIOPE EU-funded project ExPo-r-Net (European Expert Paediatric Oncology Reference Network for Diagnostics and Treatment) has been shortlisted for the European Health Award 2016. Although not having reached the winning position, ExPO-r-NeT scored well in the evaluation, ending up among the only six shortlisted projects for this prestigious award.
This is a very rewarding result for this 3-year project that will build a European Reference Network (ERN) for Paediatric Oncology. In the past years ExPO-r-Net partners managed to build a large multinational network of European hospitals and institutions, with the ambitious aim is to reduce inequalities in childhood cancer survival by providing high-quality, accessible and cost-effective healthcare for children with cancer across Europe.
